New Trends for 2008?
So what do you all think will be the new crafting trends for 2008?

hhmm.more punch needle, rug hooking, altered art, i also think some of the older crafts are making a come back.... such as spinning, weaving, rug making, knitting and basket weaving. i know they are offering more community education classes in the older crafts around this area.

I agree Kim. The craft stores are selling more products for punch needle and needle felting. I just learned to knit around Christmas and I love it. Something I never thought I would get the hang of since I usually crochet. But I kept at it and just finished my first scarf and started another one. Altered Art has peeked my interest a bit too. The possibilities with this are endless.

Yup...... I think a huge rise in altered art is happening...even in my area. Punch needle Rug hooking (its popular here cause I live in the Maritimes) I see felting and softies becoming big business too. Now on that note.....I am also not really one to "follow trends" per say....if something has caught my attention....then I'll play. But if something is in my head and needs to be created....it will get made....even if I am the only one who ends up seeing it! LOL OX Cedara

Needle felting of all kinds.

I am needle felting my daughter jeans. I did a heart on the leg. She really liked it. I need more supplies now. Ok next I need to buy a crafting house cuz my craft supplies are taking over our living house! I have a new idea with the wool roving for the jeans that I am going to try. I so hope it works out cuz I think it will be really cool. I often wonder what a normal non crafting life is like.....
