A May 2008 survey of more than 18,000 mothers found that "the time mothers spend performing 10 typical job functions would equate to an annual salary of $116,805 for a stay-at-home mom." The eighth annual survey calculated market value by studying pay levels for ten job titles for work that a stay-at-home mother performs, ranging from housekeeper and day care center teacher to van driver, psychologist and chief executive officer.
