Teaching You Child To Read
The year I joined the military my oldest boy Stetson was suppose to go to Kindergarten. Since we had no idea when we would be moving and because I wanted to spend extra time with him before I went of to Officer School I decided to teach him the basics myself. Of course there were days I thought I was crazy ! But I want to share a book with you that I used to teach him to read that we are now using with our 4 year old Chayton. Here is is, Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons (Paperback) by Siegfried; Bruner, Elaine; Haddox, Phyllis Engelmann (Author)

I've heard so many good things about this book but it just didn't "click" for us. We've had great success with Hooked on Phonics and Study Dog. We got HOP from the library and Study Dog was a free download online. I've also head good things about Starfall which is also online but we haven't tried it.
