Tell us about you family
Shane and I have 2 boys, Stetson age 8 and Chayton age 4. They both have blonde hair and blue eyes and are the light of our life. We are both from the Northern Utah Southern Idaho area until I joined the Air Force 2 years ago. We lived in Texas during my pilot training and then moves to Kansas in Feb. I am currently stationed in OK and they all live in KS. I come home most weekends but it is really killing me to be away. Once I finish my training in OK and I make it back to KS is when I start being eligible for deployment. Not looking forward to the family separation. Someone has to get fuel to the fighter pilots :) Anyway my kids love swimming, and have two new mini schnauzer puppies, one is named Potato and the other is Bug, "Potato Bug". I will post a photo soon.

So I'm curious Amy... is Mr Momz aka Shane? LOL Where did the Mr Momz nickname come from? I have flashbacks to Michael Keaton playing Mr. Mom heehee

"Mr Momz"
When I finished college and got acccepted to be a pilot for the Air Force Shane and I knew that it may have a negative impact on our boys since they were use to being with mommy, he was working full time. So we decided to have him quite his job once I joined. We purchased a new vehicle and he wanted to have a personalized license plate "Mr Moms" but it was already taken so we went with "Mr Momz". Keep in mind Shane is so awesome and has no "I'm a MAN ego" so he is totaly comfortable accepting how important his job is. How did we start Mr Momz General Store? Actaully Shane was a way on vacation with the boys and I was bored at home (I could not leave since I was in pilot training at the time). I use to sell Pampered Chef and had oodles of product I had earned so I decided to try my luck at eBay. He came back from vacation and we started selling more, we got our hands on some Wi's and off we went. Honestly we lost a HUGE amount of money trying to find our niche on what to sell. We got scammed a couple of times, part of it was our own stupidity. I think since I love prim and country home decor so much we just decided to go that route. Shane started making wax tarts, it took him almost 3 months to perfect his wax and scent. I'm telling you there outstanding!! We used the Mr Momz General Store becasue to begin with we had no idea what to market. We did clothing, tried to fix returned products from retailers, toys, horse tack. Like I said we learned a lot and lost a lot. And hence is why we really want to help others be successful. Anyway that is how Mr Momz was born :) So if you see the license plate from Idaho its us!! We get so many funny looks from passing drivers I love it.

Thanks for sharing Amy! I always enjoy hearing the stories of other people on how they got their names. Finding your niche is probably a big issue for alot of businesses - for those who found it early... kudos!! I have so many ideas its hard for me to nail them all down - so for now I just write them down and look at them from time to time. So far graphics is what I am happiest doing and I believe when you are happy you are successful ;-) Best of luck!

Thanks for sharing all that - it really does help when you get to know people online. Sometimes I feel people aren't in forums to make friends but rather to post their ads and that's it, most seem to use forums for networking. Which is fine but at the same time I like to really get to know people. My boys are also 5 and 8, my oldest would be really impressed that you are a pilot with the Air Force!

I agree, I hate some of the forums. It just seems like a giant competition or there is sooo much trash from people advertising their make a million in a day schemes. Shane and I hope to make this more of what we would have if we could invite you all over for dinner and share our experiences and find out more about everyone.
