This is a story about two seventeen year olds, the boy and girl next door. Their families are very close and it was no surprise that once the kids reached their teens, that they would become romantically involved. What was a surprise however is that these same two teens had a 'suicide pact'. No one, not family nor friends ever suspected that either of these teens were depressed or suicidal. Without going into too much detail..........one of these teens does die and the other lives and is charged with murder. Jodi Picoult paints an indelible portrait of families in anguish, culminating in an astonishhingly suspenseful courtroom drama. Awesome book.
